Ski Boot CLA is an measuring instrument that detects the shape of the shinbone by measuring the angles of the lower limbs very precisely. This enables ski boot canting to be adjusted without errors and objective data.

How does it work

  • Get operator to stand on platform with his feet positioned at a natural distance (around width of pelvis)
  • Position 2 lasers on tibial bar introducing them into the appropriate supports
  • Move tibial bar up until it is half way up the calf of the right leg
  • Move sensor holder to the external and internal limit of the calf
  • Identify distance between two sensors and determine the half-way point
  • Position one of the 2 sensors at the half way point of the distance calculated earlier
  • Mark point determined in this way on leg with a marker pen or other appropriate means
  • Repeat the same operation on the left leg

  • Move the tibial bar up to the narrowest point above the ankle of the right leg
  • Move the sensor holder until it reaches the external and internal limit of the ankl
  • Identify distance between two sensors and determine the half-way point
  • Position one of the 2 sensors at the half way point of the distance calculated earlier
  • Mark point determined in this way on leg with a marker pen or other appropriate means
  • Repeat the same operation on the left leg

  • Place the 2 lasers back into the supports on the goniometer bar
  • Observe the position of the 2 points marked on the right leg and position the 2 lasers so that they coincide with the two points marked
  • Check instructions on display and read angle of inclination
  • Repeat same operation on left leg

  • Once you have measured angles of shinbone as described above, position right ski boot on platform (hook closed on first position)
  • Position 2 lasers on upper and lower limit of ski boot cuff on mould closure line (possibly identify two points with black marker pen)
  • Read inclination measurement on goniometer display
  • Loosen internal and external canting screws and rear cuff locking screws
  • Rotate internal and external canting cams until you obtain angle noted on right leg
  • Check new ski boot cuff inclination once again with 2 lasers on display
  • Tighten canting and rear cuff screws
  • Repeat same operation with left ski boot
